This restaurant is cute and quaint with a nice garden and chilled atmosphere. It is nicely decorated and comfortable and you could find yourself wanting to sit here and relax for a while.
But what to eat? Well they have a pretty big menu with a really interesting variety including things I’ve never even heard of before. Be adventurous! Order the soba soup for example which is a Japanese noodle soup which makes a great light lunch option. The vegan bolognase always used to be our favourite, although for some reason they took that off the menu in 2019. It’s good to see a menu with changes though so you don’t always know what to expect when you turn up.
They have introduced a range of burgers although they do not come with chips which for us is an incomplete meal. We get that this is a healthy restaurant, but who is trying to be healthy when you order a burger. The carb-free lasagne is an interesting dish made with zucchini layers, although not cheap at 250 BAHT.
They make their own vegan cheese which is a rare find in Chiang Mai. There is no Thai food here and most of the dishes are either Japanese inspired or western style with interesting twists. So many places in Chiang Mai serve the same old stuff, we like Amrita for their creative unique dishes and for the fact that their dishes are not loaded with oil.
All the food in the menu is vegan, there are only a couple of desserts which are clearly marked as containing dairy. The dessert range does include an abundance of vegan options as well and even includes raw vegan options, the cheesecakes are particularly good.
It a nice evening spot to hang out and eat and drink with friends. It really is the place to go if you are looking for that something that is a bit different and unique from what you’ll usually come across.
